Lesser-Known Ladies: Workin' For You, Baby, 'Til You Come Home

Hello, all.  Guess who's here?  Well, between issues with my computer and marinating over the holidays, what I was afraid would happen, ultimately happened.  I fell out of my artwork routine and it took me a while to get back into it.  Of course, I do have plenty of pics on my plate.  I just have to get back into the rhythm of drawing them.  So to kick things off, I thought I'd go with something relatively simple, by presenting the latest in my "Lesser-Known Ladies" series...a character who TRULY fits the bill.

Friends...if I uttered the words, "Savage Dragon", how many of you would actually be old enough to know what I was talking about?  And if you were, how many of you would actually respond by going, "'Savage Dragon'? Is that series even still going?".  If so, you would be forgiven, because that was pretty much MY thinking on it until a couple of weeks ago, when I caught a Youtube video talking about it and the rather..."interesting" direction Series Creator, Erik Larson, has chosen to take the series in.

See, much like one of his contemporaries, Jim Balent (another comic book artist who hit it big in the 90s), Larson, in recent years, has apparently pivoted his work towards the realm of softcore porn.  For evidence, look no further than the characters of Malcolm Dragon (son of the original and the now-current Savage Dragon) and his nympho wife, Maxine Jung, who I think reveals more about Larson's sexual predilections than any of us TRULY cared to know.

(Hey, a tiny, flat-chested Asian girl with freckles, who basically wants to fuck, 30 hours a day, eight days a week?  Yyyyah...take from that what you will.)

Anyway, this brings us to the "image" in question (See what I did there? Huh? Huh? Huh?).  While waiting for Malcolm to return home from his latest battle, so she can jump him again, Maxine is doing everything she can to keep her "insatiable desires" at bay, and keep him in her thoughts at the same time.  While the line art for the picture was completed relatively quickly, it was the coloring that took the most time, as I was experimenting with a couple of approaches to try and make it look more like the actual comic book art.  Granted, that was a BIG goal to shoot for and I can't say I quite got there, but I'm still very happy with how the pic turned out.  Anyway, I hope you all feel the same and that this will be the start of my art getting back on track again.  As always, any comments are appreciated and feel free to contact me for commission information as well.

Enjoy. ^_^
